Short bio:
Mahulena Svobodová is an architect and urbanist, working for IPR Praha the Prague Institute of Planning and Develepment, Office for Urban Districts´develepment, with a long term interest in cultural heritage and its role in cities and city development. Since 2021 she has been working on a conceptual study for the Historic center (UNESCO site) of Prague.During her career as a freelance architect she has lead Green landmarks (2010) research and educational project aiming at combining energy efficiency (sustainability) with heritage protection. She has lead and collaborated on various other renovation projects and architecture/urbanism educational projects and workshops.
She studied History of art and Political science at the Charles University in Prague and Architekcture and planning at the Technical University in Liberec, she was a Fulbright fellow at the GSAPP at Columbia University in 2008-2009.
